Everyone grows up with some type of piano or keyboard in their house. Mine was the Yamaha PSR-190, a consumer grade keyboard that my parents most likely bought at a RadioShack. There are several hundred sounds, songs, and drum grooves loaded on the keyboard and playing with it was one of my favorite things to do as a kid.
I still have the keyboard at my Mom's house and periodically have included it in various recordings with some success. Over a weekend at the house, I thought it would be a fun challenge to try to make pieces of music using only the PSR-190 (with a little studio trickery of course). Outside of adding reverb or compression, everything heard is literally performed from the keyboard, no editing or sampling involved, just playing.
